Arched window treatment selections and rendering of approved design with specification details.

We are working on some arched window treatment selections for a Shrewsbury, MA home office/library.  I use Studio to design the treatment right on a photo of the client’s window.  The fabric selections are inserted into the line drawing.  The design rendering shows all of the details so there are no surprises.

This is what the window looked like when I went to consult with the client.

Arched Window Treatment Selections

Brocade, sheer, beads and tassel

The fabrics and trimmings have arrived.  Don’t you just love the richness of that brocade?  It is going to go with so many things.  By the way, the client selected the beads instead of the tassel trim.  They will be so fun when they capture the sunlight.

I am passionate about these favorite silk fabrics.  It is from a collection that has been out a few years by RM Coco.  Every time I am searching for a fabric for a client and come across this, my heart skips a beat.

Sadly, I have never used this colorway in any of my designs.  I have used the same pattern in a brilliant turquoise which I will post on in the near future.  Take a look at the detail.

Favorite Silk Fabrics That Coordinate

In my designer dream room, I can see it paired with one of these solids as an accent.

I love to mix patterns.  This stripe is a fun coordinate.  It is woven with “stitching lines” to give it great textural interest.

In my designer dream room, I would use these in window treatments, bedding, pillows and upholstery in a sophisticated master suite.

Do these fabrics make your heart leap?

Cape Cod Sea Shells

Golden paper thin Cape Cod sea shells found on Seagull Beach in West Yarmouth, MA

Look what arrived in the studio this week! Cape Cod sea shells.

Do you wonder if this is a blog about window treatments or is it someone writing about the beach? Yes, they will be incorporated into a window treatment.

It is important to capture the personality and details of a client’s lifestyle.  I love to use what is special to them in the details of the design.

My designer eye hones in on these Cape Cod sea shells in a bowl while at my client’s beach escape.  There is an abundance of them they collect at Seagull Beach in West Yarmouth, MA.

Detail of Cape Cod Sea Shells. Potato chip like shells with a tiny hole in them.

Notice how thin the shells are. The tiny hole in them will make sewing them onto a window treatment easy.

I am designing a custom window treatment for the guest room that will use these opalescent beauties as a unique detail.   I’ll post more pictures as work progresses.
