Happy 4th of July!
A few ways to celebrate our great country’s independence
Start the day with a big family breakfast.
Plump fresh berries in pure white bowls satisfy any patriotic get together.
The white canvas cushions are the perfect backdrop to colorful pillows and accessories. These would be so easy to change for each season.
A multi-purpose room or maybe a guest room at grandma’s house. It says all American boy.

This looks like the perfect vacation home to me. I love the white efficient kitchen and the blue wicker chairs at the table. The denim sofa with contrasting white piping is inviting. A great all-purpose room where the family can spend good quality time together.
Americana at it’s best. Makes me want to break into song.
A beverage anyone? I have these mason jar glasses (from Christmas Tree Shops years ago)
Red, White and Blue Margaritas would be so refreshing. You can find the recipe here http://blogs.babble.com/family-kitchen/2010/07/02/frozen-margaritas-for-the-4th-of-july/
Of course the All American food is on the menu today. Why not arrange the lowly hot dog into an artful flag? Check out those star chips, they’re home-made! The recipe is on the Mint and Clandy blog.
Or maybe lobster is on your menu for today. Yum! I stumbled upon this photo and tagged it for the patriotic color scheme. I did some investigating on the source (I try my best to give credit where it’s due) and found this great blog travelogue on Chatham, MA, one of my favorite places. Looks like they had a great visit last July. Their photos capture the charm of Chatham perfectly. http://www.hitherandthither.net/2010/07/travelogue-chatham-ma-cape-cod-july.html
Red, White and Blue Decorating
I love this charming kitchen from Better Homes and Gardens.
Everything is better when served outdoors. These vintage table linens remind me of my childhood.
Red, White and Blueberry Trifle. I think I will make this for Ryan’s birthday. I’ll get those fun sparkler candles too. You can find the recipe here http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/06/red-white-and-blueberry-trifle.html
Wishing you all a great 4th with family and friends. and the many blessings we have living in this beautiful and free country.
